BREAKING! Visually Impaired Student: UNN Security Arrests Afia TV Correspondent, Cameraman On Live Report
Afia TV correspondent Elijah Akuma and cameraman Nathaniel Peter were reportedly arrested by UNN security operatives shortly after carrying out a follow-up report on the reported planned eviction of visually impaired student, Nnamdi Daniel, at the Alvan Ikoku Hostel in UNN during the Afia Morning Show.
According to available information, the university’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) accused the journalist of “sneaking in” to the premises. The arrest is said to have occurred immediately after Elijah and Daniel appeared on the afia Morning show for an interview.
Afia TV notes that prior to the arrest, a phone call exchange took place in which the Director of Housing and Accommodation, Dr. Adibe Agbo, accused the journalist of trespassing while he sought access to Daniel.
As of the time of this report, both Akuma and Peter have reportedly been in detention for over two hours, with no official statement yet released by the university authorities regarding the incident.
The development adds a new dimension to the unfolding situation surrounding the eviction of the student and raises concerns about press access and campus security protocols.
