The Dream Draws Closer as Uche Nnaji Clears PDP Screening, Inspires Hope for New Leadership in Enugu



Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, have described his successful screening at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja as a defining moment in the unfolding political journey toward the 2027 governorship election in Enugu State.

According to Ndi Enugu the development represents more than an internal party exercise, but a growing affirmation of confidence in Nnaji’s leadership capacity, political experience, and long-standing public service record.

They noted that his clearance has further strengthened what they described as a rising political movement anchored on the desire for purposeful leadership, economic revitalization, and improved governance across the state.

Nnaji, popularly known as Nwakaibie, is widely recognized for his service as former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, where he reportedly championed initiatives focused on youth empowerment, innovation-driven development, and policies aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s technological ecosystem. His supporters argue that his time in public office reflects a record of performance, strategic thinking, and national-level exposure.

In their reaction, Ndi Enugu expressed the view that the political mood across the state is gradually shifting, with many citizens increasingly calling for a leadership direction that prioritizes economic development, job creation, infrastructural renewal, and inclusive governance. They further stated that the 2027 election presents an opportunity for what they described as a fresh political direction rooted in competence and accountability.

They also emphasized that Nnaji’s aspiration has continued to gain attention at the grassroots level, where supporters believe his background and experience position him as a candidate capable of addressing key developmental challenges facing the state.
